Sir Howard Florey
Sir Howard Florey was born on September 24, 1898, Adelaide, Australia. He had an early education at St. Peter Collegiate School, later he graduated in 1921 at Adelaide University with M.B and B.S. He was awarded a Rhodes Scholarship to Magdalen College, Oxford 1924 .In 1925 he visited the U.S Rockefeller Traveling Fellowship or 1 year. Then in 1927 he then got his PH.D. In 1931 Howard succeeded to the Joseph Hunter Chair of pathology at the University of Sheffield. Dr. Florey left Sheffield in 1935. He also became a Professor of Pathology and Fellow of Lincoln College Oxford. During World War I he was appointed Honorary Consultant in Pathology.
